Family Summer Fun Weekend at Camp Cavell
1:00 PM CDT

Family Summer Fun Weekend at Camp Cavell includes an option to participate in "Learn to Fish" class.  Meant for parents and children, we will learn how rig our rods, tie 1-2 most needed fishing knots, and learn to cast.  We'll be doing hands on fishing at a local pond where we will learn to put on bait, remove fish from our hooks, and return to the water.  Lots of fun and lots of good memories.  Everyone goes home with goodies.  Go to campcavell.org for more details.

Boy's Only REEL Fishing at Camp Cavell
3:00 PM EST

Ideal for beginner or intermediate skills.  This "Boy's only" week is for campers 7-17 years. Overnight camp July 29-August 3.  Learn to rig your rod, tie fishing knots, make a fishing lanyard, practice casting, ID fish, make tackle, tie flies and most importantly, fish.  We'll talk about fishing ethics and protecting our aquatic environment as we make daily trips to local ponds. Our target fish are perch, Bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish.  We'll learn how to remove our fish and return them to the water.  If time permits, we'll learn to clean our fish and enjoy a fish dinner by campfire.  Check out at campcavell.org
